Apologies for the cruddy start to the day, but here’s the news: Ofgem have announced that the Price Cap will increase from 1 April 2025, from the current £1,738 to £1,849, a staggering increase of £111, or 6.4%.This comes as a shock as all experts were predicting a smaller increase, with Cornwall Insight predicting £1,823. Cornwall Insights did accurately predict a decrease in the Electricity Standing Charges, but not as much as we’d hoped and they inaccurately forecast a £10 decrease in Gas Standing Charges, whereas we’re actually going to see a £3.72 increase in Gas Standing Charges.
